My dear Christian friends, I just don't get it.
* You vigorously deny the existence of thousands of gods claimed by other religions, but then feel outraged when someone denies the existence of yours.
* You feel insulted and dehumanized when others say that people evolved from lesser life forms, but you have no problem with the Biblical claim that we were created from dirt.
* You laugh at polytheists, but you have no problem believing in a Trinity god.
* You have an unfounded belief that an unseen, all-powerful entity made everything in the Universe just for you - and that your special, ancient, and often re-written texts are the right ones - while all those other religions are completely wrong without a single shred of evidence.......'makes perfect sense'.
* Your face turns purple when you hear of the atrocities attributed to Allah (and other mythical gods), but you don't even flinch when hearing about how God/Jehovah/Yahweh (whatever) slaughtered all the babies of Egypt in 'Exodus', and ordered the elimination of entire ethnic groups in 'Joshua' - including women, children, and animals.
* You laugh at Hindu beliefs that deify humans, and Greek claims about gods sleeping with women, but you have no problem believing that the Holy Spirit impregnated Mary, who then gave birth to a man-god who got killed, came back, and then ascended into the sky.
* You are willing to spend your life looking for little loopholes in the scientifically established age of the Earth (4.55 billion years old), but you find nothing wrong with believing dates recorded by pre-historic tribesmen sitting in their tents and guessing that the Earth is a couple of generations old!
* You believe that the entire population of this planet, with the exception of those who share your beliefs (though excluding those in all rival sects) will spend eternity in an infinite hell of suffering. Yet, you consider YOUR religion to be the most tolerant and loving.
* While modern science, history, geology, biology, and physics have failed to convince you otherwise, some idiot rolling around on the floor 'speaking in tongues' may be all the evidence you need.
* The letter 'J' is no more than 600 years old (how can a man who lived over 2,000 years ago be named 'Jesus'?), yet you still say that it is "the sweetest name you know".
* You claim that America is a Christian nation (which it's not), but you don't want your tax dollars to go towards healing the sick and feeding the poor.
* You define 0.01% as a 'high success rate' when it comes to answered prayers; you consider that to be evidence that prayer works, but you think that the remaining 99.99% failure was simply the will of God.
* You claim to object to murder, rape, slavery, misogyny, genocide, incest, and human/animal sacrifice - but then you claim that the Bible is your moral compass.
* You get excited when 'Jesus' appears on some damn toast, or in the cloud formations - but he always looks like the White guy (Cesare Borgia) after which the character of Jesus was fashioned.
* You say that god's word is eternal and unchanging, but then say that the Old Testament should be disregarded.
* You teach (and even threaten) your kids with going to hell. All the while, you have no idea that that is child abuse!
* Your God is responsible for more than 2,038,344 deaths in the Bible; "Satan" is responsible for '10' deaths (which were all sanctioned by God), but then you call Satan the 'Devil' (you chose the wrong mythical being)!
* You want 'religious values' and prayers placed back in the schools, but would pitch a fit if you discovered that the values being taught and the prayers being spoken are not of YOUR religion.
* You actually know a LOT less than atheists, freethinkers, and humanists do about the Bible, Christianity, and church history - but still refer to yourself as a "Christian that rightly divides the word of truth".
* ...and even after reading all of these facts, fear and indoctrination are so deeply embedded within your psyche, that you will still call it "faith"....and actually think that's a good thing!
Christians, I'm not insulting your religion, I'm just briefly explaining why it isn't true. If you have the capacity of an honest heart, open mind, and sincere spirit, then you will begin to see the truth of this. If not, then you will simply stay mired within the stagnancy of your un-founded faith.
