Ultimately, we're all pencils in the hand of the Zuckerberg - Adesegun Damazio

There's no such thing as a "Facebook celebrity", unless of course you're known for a craft in a particular industry.

And the moment you realize that your presence on Facebook is just as important to Mark Zuckerberg as that of the pseudo celebrities, the better.

Social media applications deal with numbers, in fact, active numbers. And just in case you noticed, each time Facebook releases its quarterly results, never at any point do they disclose the number of "Facebook celebrities" present on the app. Instead, what you find is "number of active users" and blah blah blah.

Consequently, your activities - likes, posts, comments and shares - are some of the main reasons why Mark is a billionaire. It's all he needs from you in order to stay relevant. Why else do you think he acquired WhatsApp, Instagram and a couple of other trending apps? Numbers! If a so-called celebrity decides not to post anything, make your own post, like, comment and share the post. You won't die. You're contributing to the active numbers.

However, if relevance is what you seek, then feel free to align with those with active followership. Unlike Twitter and Instagram, you can't thrive on bots here. You either have a sizable organic following or you don't. Besides, getting an active following isn't rocket science. Just identify your target audience and post whatever content that tickles their fancy.

Fiam!

Numbers.

So, next time anyone tries to bamboozle you with that "Facebook celebrity" bull crap, be sure to remind yourself that you're a major contributing factor to the app's viability.

Ultimately, we're all pencils in the hand of the Zuckerberg.
