I blame FG for turning Kanu from a midget to a movement, now he has a Messiah complex - Olakunle Allison

(Please, give them Biafra. I MEAN IT!)

Psychologists call it a Messiah Complex or Christ Complex or Saviour Complex. Hitler was said to have it. He too thought he was on God's side. Most leaders of thought and revolutionists have this complex.

I just saw a recent video of a very recent event that happened few days/hours ago somewhere in the East. Nnamdi Kanu was the cynosure of all eyes and the crowd was a mammoth. Hate him or like him, Kanu has metamorphosed from a mere man to a demiurge; from a rabble rouser to a rallying point; from a noisemaker to a sweet nonsense. And for all these I blame the Federal Government of Nigeria (FG). They helped turn Kanu from a Midget to a Movement. How so? Because people love the persecuted!

When the FG rested its federal weight against one man and even refused to willingly obey its own court rulings, what you'd get is a man not being prosecuted but rather being persecuted. And who are those that are usually persecuted? Messiahs! At least that's the thinking.

Those Igbos who never used to take Kanu seriously began to listen after the FG became a bully. They began to feel that maybe the guy was right after all. The FG legitimized Kanu due to unchecked zeal.

Kanu is now a force; a dangerous force. In the video, he was still as caustic, vitriolic and inciting as ever. People shouted and sang Messianic choruses for him. They called him 'Messiah', 'Saviour'. Women wanted him to touch or kiss their kids. Even to pray for them.

Guys, I saw an Army of young men forming a long wall of bodies on both sides of the road to create smooth passing and movement for Kanu. An Army of youths. Stupid, misguided, misled but still an army! Trust me, the ovation and celebration this guy got could only be bested by the Triumphal entry of Christ into Jerusalem!!

After watching the relatively short clip I had no doubt in my mind that for the first time AFTER Late Youthful Ojukwu (during the war) the Igbos once again have a rallying point. I may not like him (in fact I don't), but that doesn't matter anymore. If Kanu says Igbos shouldn't vote in 2019 unless Biafra is actualized, THEY WON'T! (He actually threatened this). If he says that they should contribute money to bankroll a Biafra Synagogue, THEY WILL!

I'm just trying to show you the depth of his influence and the solidarity he enjoys. Are these folks brainwashed? Very much so. But again, that is no longer the issue. The real issue now is that Kanu and his ever growing hordes can no longer be ignored.

The only way out is for the FG to do the right thing after turning him into an overnight wonder. The FG can no longer afford to play the Ostrich. Kanu is real. IPOB is real. Its ideology is real. Its philosophy is real. Its theology, very real. Its growing army, painfully real. A Plebiscite is long overdue.

The FG must as a matter of national emergency have a Referendum to test the popularity of the agitations of IPOB. And if the result supports a secession, LET BIAFRA BE BORN PEACEFULLY! Please and please for posterity's sake, give them BIAFRA!! Better to do it peacefully than otherwise because the so-called Biafra spirit isn't dying anytime soon. Trust me.

Igbos at the National Assembly and the ones abroad are not even up for consideration here. Theirs are the hushed voices. Theirs are the minority of the minorities. The real Army, foot Soldiers and Pawns are on the side of the majority. On the side of Kanu the 'Messiah'.

We are here already and we must deal with it. This kind of fanatical cult following is what you get when the FG has undermined history and removed it from our classrooms but would rather prioritize Arabic Studies.

It is what you get in a country where the FG has systematically normalized the culture of brain drain due to its lackluster educational drive. Nnamdi Kanu's rise to the Pantheon of gods is what you'd get.

And now we must listen to him. We really have no other choice.
