Testimonies and lies : I also know of a woman who had her baby through IVF, but told everyone that she went to see TB Joshua, and she got pregnant and had her baby - Nkechi Bianze

ABOUT CHURCH TESTIMONIES.

So, this particular woman was finding it difficult to get pregnant or carry it to term when she does. After four years of marriage, she confided on my mum who then took her to a very good doctor.

It was observed that her PH level was not conducive enough for a baby (or something like that. Not sure but that was about how the doctor explained it to them in lay man's terms.)

She was placed on medication. Since that was the only medical reason she couldn't carry a pregnancy to term, she got pregnant shortly and had a baby about a year after she started her medication.

I was losing the battle and it was clear. At that point, all I could think of was forcefully dispossessing him of the car steering and plunging us into a big ditch - Adesegun Damzio

I remember the day my Father mysteriously asked me, "why don't you become a Reverend Father?"

He was driving at about the time he popped the question and I must confess, I became constipated afterwards. The silence that followed the question was at the very least deafening. This was a man whom only few minutes earlier, had advised me to be careful with the kind of girls I associated with but there he was speaking another language entirely.

Just before you make that stupid decision to get married and have kids, How much do you earn?

Just before you make that stupid decision to get married and have kids.

1. How much do you earn?

2. Do you know how much the average rent in lagos costs? Or do you plan to bring your wife into daddy's house or you are hoping her rich father will pay your rent?

3. Have you seen the costs of pampers? Do you know how much a full time nanny costs?

4. Montessori nko? You want your child to go to a good school yeah?

5. Feeding? Transportation? Bills? Parties? Outings?

You earn 150k a month. You have a savings of 1million naira in your account. But you plan to use all that savings for a 'society wedding'. To feed people who dont give a shit about you. To impress people who will still talk trash about your wedding anyway. To show off to your inlaws? To prove to people that you have arrived?

Evans Lawyer : Social media please don't drag my learned colleague

Why are people dragging this colleague of mine. I hope he doesn't land himself in trouble for this though.
One thing is sure, he will be dragged by the judge in court to the point that Evans might change his mind on hiring his services, thinking his lawyer isn't capable of the task.

Maybe he truly isn't though....What do I know

Madam Carol Eno Effiong (85yrs): A Case of Justice on its Ugly Head

Madam Carol Eno Effiong, is a widow and a retired nurse. She packaged her little pension and gratuity and partook in the bid for Festac 77 houses, through the Federal Housing Authority and won. She was thus allocated a five bedroom detached house in Festac. She moved into that only house, as a retiree, with her only daughter, also named Carol.

Just one day in 1996, Madam Effiong discovered that her documents of title to the house were
missing. She searched for them to no avail, so she reported to the FHA and also placed a Caveat in
the Vanguard newspapers. Unknown to Madam Effiong however, her only daughter, Carol, had taken the documents and sold the house, through a forged power of attorney, to her accomplice.
The 'buyer' then approached the Magistrate Court, Apapa, suing Madam Effiong through her fake
attorney, Carol, her daughter. 'Judgment' was obtained against Madam Effiong and she was evicted from the house, and thrown into the streets. Her daughter, Carol, disappeared into thin air. Madam Effiong started squatting in churches, having lost all her life savings in the process.
Madam Effiong approached Chief Gani Fawehinmi, SAN, as a dying widow, and a case was filed in the High Court in 1997. I was assigned to handle the case. Subsequently in year 2000, Chief Fawehinmi granted approval for me to continue handling the case, after I'd set up my own law firm.

Deceptively, tolerance is now seen as the hallmark of enlightenment - Olakunle Allison

Why do you lock your door before bedtime?

One of the unfortunate fallouts of contemporary civilization is cultural/moral relativism as opposed to moral realism. How do I mean? You put up a post condemning a particular trend in the society and some relativistic minds would comment;

'Live and let's live'

Dear wife, when you are on social media, remember to wear your hijab

Dear wife,

When you're online...

Remember to come with your hijab. Remember to come with your hayaa. Remember that there are preying eyes all over the internet. Remember that there are wolves, ready to eat you alive and there are vultures, waiting to feast on your carcass. Remember that there are evil eyes and there are devilish minds.

Don't give up your bashfulness in the name of social media. Don't trade your family for online pseudo-friends. Don't get addicted to the extent of paying less attention to your husband and children. There are so many sex-starved and love-deprived men out there, seeking for attention and gratification via chats.

Beware of gossip hubs which are disguised as female-only secret groups. Beware of backbiting and slandering. Beware of discussing your marital affairs with, or divulging your husband's secrets to total strangers. Beware of fake online counsellors, internet muftis and Google sheikhs who give advice without true knowledge.

Before you do anything on these virtual platforms, ask yourself, "would I do this in real life?"

Pink People are our Masters, It's their world, there is nothing we can do - Onyeka Nwelue

I am yet to understand the hypocrisy of humans. It is heart-breaking. I want to assume that Pink People created Immigration Rules. They coined everything, because this is their world. What I don't understand is how Pink People would plunder and squander African nations - taking everything away from them, with people like King Leopold of Belgium killing over 15 million Africans and his extended family members like Queen Victoria of England enslaving and colonising more Africans - and then they quickly moved a motion to not let Africans get into Europe easily. That's where the issue of visa comes in.

VISA is a sticker that has a date; it is issued to people, to let allow them entry into a country and when to depart. It was invented by Pink People. It's the same as the card issued during slavery by a master to let his slave go out and come in. We are still in slavery. Pink People are our Masters. It's their world. There is nothing we can do. I'm writing in a Pink Man's language. I need a Pink Man's permission to visit the British Museum in London where artifacts taken from Benin Empire exist. We do not want to question this.

You refuse people visa, yet, you are quick to take a camera to go save them from the ocean, so you will appear a good person.

Miles Davis said: "If somebody told me I had only one hour to live, I'd spend it choking a white man. I'd do it nice and slow."

Pink People are great in supporting and building. They also know how to destroy.

Biafra : Before our very own eyes, a larvae has become a behemoth - Adesegun Damazio

I came across a video on Twitter in which young men and women chanted "we want Biafra" repeatedly, as Nnamdi Kanu watched from a one or two-storey building. With him were two white companions, journalists I believe, filming the whole scene. There was a dark-skinned gentleman with him as well and from the exchange, one could surmise that Kanu was showing him the force that was the high-spirited people on the ground.

The raucous "We want Biafra" chant quickly transcended into a popular Nigerian hymn that is sung during sporting events and protests, "All we are saying, give us (Biafra)", which lasted till the end of the video.

Endearing names aren't meant for random people - Olakunle Allison

Am I the only guy who dislikes a very recent but common trend of calling everybody pet names or names of endearment?

Our ladies are more guilty of this. I don't know if they are trying to sound cool, exotic or simply just playing copycat but this trend is really unbecoming and annoying. Some girls just call everyone (both girls and guys) and anyone (familiar and not-too-familiar) pet names.

These days you'd just hear ladies call folks "sweetie", "dear/dearie", "honey/hun" "love/luv", "sugar", "babe" etc. I mean, it is becoming very common both online and offline. Are they trying to sound cool and trendy? Because it's not. It shows you don't understand the meaning and purpose behind those words.

Go and become an astronaut, I bet you African witches haven’t heard that word before. They can’t curse what they don’t know - Joy isi Bewaji

I have a mathematical solution to the trepidation of witchcraft propagated and promoted by religion.

So, the church across the street has a screaming pastor (like most others)…

“They say you will not get married. They say you will not have children. They say you will not buy a car. They don’t know your God.”

Every Sunday and Wednesday, it’s the same proliferation of fear and concern about a spirit world interested in stealing children, husbands and automobiles.

OK.

Nigeria has no official language

I hope we all know that the official languages of the Federal Republic of Nigeria are Yoruba, Ibo, Hausa and English.

The President can choose to communicate with which ever one.

The 1999 constitution does not expressly state which language the President may use to communicate, but it expressly stated in section 55 that the Yoruba, Hausa, Ibo and English is the language which can be used to communicate during the National Assembly and State Houses of Assembly business of the day.

If the legislature can use it, nothing prevents the executive from using it. The legislature is the people, and the people can communicate in indeginous languages, then the government can reply his people in the same languages. The fact that the constitution never mentioned the language by which the Nigerian executive can communicate, then the executive is free to use any of these languages in Nigeria. More so, it might even be safe to say Nigeria has no official language as no where was it specifically stated in the Constitution that the 'official' language (s) is/are.... But in section 55, it was expressly stated that English, Yoruba, Ibo and Hausa can be used for the business of the day, so it is safe to adopt those as the official languages.

I'm speaking from both sides of the mouth, because the law speaks from both sides of the mouth also depending on which argument one wishes to tow...

Has the President erred in communicating in Hausa, No!!

Should he have gotten a translator to communicate his message in other local dialects and English, yes!!?

Please let us encourage the use of our home languages in government and governance.

Between 35 - 45 is the age at which you carve a niche for yourself, a period of self appraisal

This is the period people in my age group are getting married or married now. By the time we are 35 years old, the marriage phase will be over if not over by 32 years sef.
The next phase will be what have you achieved, or planning to achieve.
It will be are you on the path to greatness or you are struggling to feed, or you are in and out of jobs?
It will be the period of self appraisal.
The period whereby you already know what legacy you are going to give your children, if it's the legacy of poverty or the legacy of confidence.

A level of comfort builds a child's confidence, will you be able to give your child that?

The period when the wheat will be seperated from the chaff.

That period is between the ages of 35 - 45.

Anything thereafter is an afterthought. It's struggling on mistakes maybe they could be corrected or not.
50 downwards is realising if you have all along towed the path to be referred to as an elder.

A true slay queen : A wife that can stand where hardworking women stand, a wife who won't list cooking and bedroom skills as her greatest achievements in life - Adesegun Damazio

There's nothing you won't find on Facebook. Though I still believe Facebook Naija offers the full package - fun, knowledge and love - compared to the other social media platforms, it still houses some of the world's most ridiculous individuals.

I came across a post on which one of the commenters was lambasted for seeing nothing wrong with having a wife who's richer than he is. His traducers - young and old men - derided him for being "myopic", "foolish" and what have you. And in his own defense, he just wanted a marriage that was financially stress-free and premised on that was why he saw nothing wrong with having a richer partner.

Ironically, I'm quite sure he doesn't know we're brothers in spirit.

Christianity is an immoral ideology - Ijabla Raymond

Christianity is an immoral ideology (yes, religions are ideologies). Here's why:

YHWH killed millions of innocent people in the Bible and committed ethnic cleansing and genocides on an epic scale. He murdered innocent Egyptian children. He endorsed slavery, incest, misogyny and homophobia. Satan did none of these things. And even when he killed Job's children, Satan had to first obtain permission from YHWH. Yet, it's YHWH that Christians choose to worship. They vilify Satan and call him the "the evil one".

I don't believe Christians read their scriptures with an open mind. How else could they bring themselves to worship YHWH? How could they not see the glaring flaws in his character?

Look for something else within your religion to praise your God with - Olu Adegoke

Ela is evidently one of the many attributive names by which Ifa is described, and a very principal one among them. It is a contraction of the term "Orun mila."

He is sometimes described in songs of praises and in other speeches as "Ela omo Osin" Ela the child of "Osin" (the Ruler); sometimes as "Ela omo Oyigi (Oyigiyigi) Ota omi" Ela the offspring of a stone, i.e., the hard stone from the bed of a spring of water (an emblem of great strength). and regard themselves free in consequence from death, or protected against it, and say also when they utter the above praise, "Awa di Oyigiyigi, a ki o ku mo," "We are ourselves. become Oyigiyigi, that is the stone which gave birth to Ela, and will no longer die." These were duly acknowledged by the Rt. Rev. James Johnson.

Whenever you refer to Jehovah as Oyigiyigi, you are using the Ifa praise term for Orunmila. There are so many mumbled phrases out there. Jehovah is not Oyigiyigi, Ela is. Look for something else within your religion to praise your God with.

That Damola-thing, sewage of a man. - Joy Isi Bewaji

The unenlightened man with some form of education is as dangerous as a terrorist.

Men who believe sex or the acknowledgement of sexual pleasure by women makes them less of humans/ worthy of humiliation, are many.

Lie, if you wish. But if you have tried to shame an Ex with sex, then you fit the bill.

I have had one Damola-thing who threatened to share our chats... because I kicked him out of my space.

I see in her a victim of a failed society - Nkechi Bianze

On the day of the release of our WAEC results, I checked my results and saw that I cleared all my papers. I immediately called my friend and former schoolmate, and she told me that she managed only two credits. It was a mixed feeling of joy and sadness because I wanted her to pass the exams. Her NECO result wasn't any much better, so she had to enroll in a private secondary school for the next WAEC examination.

The following year, she came out with "flying colours"; with much better grades than I did. As you would guess, her parents paid twenty thousand naira for exam cheats.... so she didn't have to study and work for success.

My friend got admitted into a private University the following year, and she graduated with a 2:1 at the end of her degree program.

My friend never fails to represent the route she took to achieving her educational qualifications whenever I speak and chat with her. I see in her a victim of a failed society, a product of a failed system of education. Unfortunately, that's what I see in many educated people of my generation.

Too often, some of us complain and lament about the ratings of some educated people. It still beats my imagination to see graduates who not only cannot construct a simple sentence rid of grammatical errors, but also find it difficult to do some deep critical thinking in almost everything and every topic, or even process some already written or spoken ones.

Many people are naturally stupid and brainless - Onyeka Nwelue

People don't learn. Many of us are naturally stupid, ignorant, dense, brainless, mindless, foolish, dull-witted, witless, slow, dunce-like, simple-minded, empty-headed, vacuous, vapid, half-witted, idiotic, moronic, imbecilic, obtuse when it comes to living.

Here is the problem: we think we will live forever, so we keep planning and postponing things. You hear banal things like: "I will publish this book in 2 years. I will release my album in 5 years." Oh well, when you speak, the submissively religious ones will remind you of having faith that you will be alive, but they have seen people wake up, trying to cross the street and get hit by a car. They die. You chat with someone on Facebook today and tomorrow, they are no more.

I have learnt to live my life by every minute and second. I am always ready for what will happen. You mustn't be like me - but the way we spend time, weeping when people die and regretting not being nice to them, shows a lot. I get threatened every day. But, here is the question: what is the point of the threat? What will be will be. We can't live forever, but our legacy will remain forever.

That's important.

What have you achieved in the short time you have spent here on earth?

While modern science, history, geology, biology, and physics have failed to convince you otherwise, some idiot rolling around on the floor 'speaking in tongues' may be all the evidence you need - Christopher Felton

What do you call it when someone speaks against judging, but then say that they will pray for you....all in the same sentence?

My dear Christian friends, I just don't get it.

* You vigorously deny the existence of thousands of gods claimed by other religions, but then feel outraged when someone denies the existence of yours.

we plagiarise Indian journals into our local journals and promote ourselves to become professors

We are busy being patrons of Christians or Muslim students societies of every department in our universities.

Even with a staff:student ratio of 1:600, we are paid miserable salaries (less than 500USD per month for a PhD), so we barely have time to teach in one university; we go for visiting lectureship in mushroom universities; our executives connive with officials of TEFUND to inflate contracts that always involve building (not purchase of reagents or equipment or subscriptions to international journals) because it's easy to steal.

We peer review our own research articles by google translating plagiarised Indian journals into our local journals and promote ourselves to become professors. The few that have what it takes to conduct quality research are too insignificant to make any impact or are struggling with scripts and lack of electricity. We are operating a feudal system of education that prepares young people to be slaves and not critical thinkers or innovators. You have seen our graduates here on Facebook I am sure.

If you are married and your wife lives abroad and you haven't seen in months, my brother, you are dating - Olakunle Allison

I remember the first time a good friend and member of the Christ Embassy Church told me that Pastor Chris and his wife Anita hardly lived together.

He said that ministry work doesn't really permit much of cohabitation. Pastor Chris pastors the Nigerian Church while his wife Pastor Anita (who had their daughters) pastored the London branch.

He said they could both live apart for months without seeing each other eye to eye. My friend didn't seem to think anything was wrong with the whole arrangement. He was telling me as if it was cool. After all, they were doing ministry; God's work.

Onyeka Nwelue warns Adebola Williams and Chude Jideonwo's YNaija to keep his name out of their mouths, says YNaija is for riff- raffs

I was away, in the mountains of Santa Cruz in California, meditating under the supervision of Zen Buddhist monks. Before I went to the mountains I read something on YNaija. They said Onyeka Nwelue is looking for trouble.

I am not good at keeping quiet and when people want to raise dust they have to involve my beautiful name. In case YNaija has forgotten: I was one of the first contributors to YNaija Magazine. I was not paid for any of my articles. I was told I was being given a platform. I was told I was being helped. When I stopped writing or contributing, I didn’t even know. The first edition of YNaija has my article on Hong Kong. So, I think it is disrespectful for some riff-raff who has just waltzed into YNaija to talk about me in that manner. I expect some respect – if this is war, I am a veteran. So, YNaija can help themselves and give every little rat they employ a reason to not mention my name when they want traffic. It is not worth it, because I am still expecting them to pay for the articles I wrote for them which they promised to pay. They have not paid.

Let me introduce YNaija to you. It’s the brainchild of Chude Jideonwo and Adebola Williams, who run RedMedia Africa. They organise the Future Awards. They also handle another capitalistic venture, #EnoughisEnough. I know what all these things are about. It is about the money. It is not a problem. Money is good, but let me say that if anyone tries to play smart with me or mention my name anywhere else – where they think I will not know they planted it, I am coming to the public with my mouth open.

Surely the shame and reproach shall follow me all the days of my life, but I will dwell in the house of PDP forever and ever - Emeka Ndukah

The Gospel According To ‘Saint’ Farouk

1) And it came to pass after these things, on the first day of the first month of the twelfth year after the second millennium, that king Jona son of Bele announced to the people saying; there is no money left in the royal treasury, and the future of the kingdom is in great danger.

2) Therefore, a measure of oil shall no longer sell for three scores of silver and seven, but shall now be seven scores of silver and one. But the people grumbled aloud, and said unto another, what shall it profit our king to gain all these oil money and lose his throne?

3) For it is appointed unto him to reign but once, and after this prison, for many are the atrocities which he has committed.

Good news! Your brain hasn't expired. So, you can start using it from today.... I mean NOW!!! - Nkechi Bianze

I will never be able to get my head around the reason why many churches deceive their gullible members with faith healing. And I will still never be able to understand why too many religious Nigerians have failed to apply their brains in their practices of their various religious beliefs.

In my family Church where I grew up, we don't do modern day medicine. It was only until recently that the blocks on people's eyes started falling off, and more people are now going to hospitals when need be.

Saudi Arabia has grown wing overtime and want to turn herself to a feudal lord over all Arab States courtesy of her alliance with the US. Hence her cockiness! - Fazlur Jegede

On the conditions given to Qatar by Saudi Arabia; this is the way I see it:
To accuse Qatar of sponsoring terrorism or harbouring terrorists will to me amount to an imbalance view. Remember I once posted that virtually all Middle Eastern countries are culprit of terrorism? They will not tread the middle course.

However, Saudi Arabia has grown wing overtime and want to turn herself to a feudal lord over all Arab States courtesy of her alliance with the US. Hence her cockiness! Well I don't blame them though, perhaps, I put the blame on the downfall of Iraq. This was one of the reasons the US ensured that the likes of Iraq and Libya had to fall and the duo of Saddam Hussein and Muhammar Gaddafi had to kick the ghost. Just imagine if these guys were alive and what will become of the Arab league.
We all never thought it far ahead then that US did all these just enough to hand future hegemonic control of the Arab nation to Saudi Arabia.

Time isn't a friend to analyse more as I'm caught up in the middle of an exigency. If you ask me, I'll tell you that Saudi Arabia is fast becoming a disaster to the religion of Islam. Prince, you're well learned to know that Saudi Arabia is hypocrite. For instance, what moral justification has Saudi Arabia to attack her protégé-Yemen like she did?

The issue in the Middle east is more than meet the eyes as there are more to be said and revealed. It's saddening to see this kind of schism happen among the Arabian States. Of course, some will take sides especially the weak Arab nations while some will not especially the likes of Iran, Iraq and a few others who aren't hypocritical. But I want to assure you that one way or the other, nemesis will still in no distant future catch up with Saudi Arabia and her allies.

For want of space, perhaps, in the end, Saudi Arabia will be a fulfilment of the Holy prophet Muhammad's (SAW) prophecy about the future nature of Islam and the Arabs.

Between Daoud and David - Lateef Olagoke

"I heard there was a secret code that David sang and it pleased the Lord..." Now that's a biblical song. But wait. Isn't David the man who authored 'Songs of David'?

Lemme tell you a few things about Daoud (David) in the Quran. He was a renowned prophet who attained closeness to his Lord through consistent praises. He had one of the longest nawafils (meaning voluntary prayers). The guy dey pray too much so the Lord had to listen.

I don't really believe in lengthy nawafils to attain closeness to the Lord but if you've got the muscle and patience, it works.

I'll one day collaborate to do a compendium on the similarities in religion and prove beyond doubt that religion is the path of man towards the Incomprehension of our existence. No need to fight.

Ramadan Mubarak...

They have debated on Jesus and Magdalene for years. So he f****d her, rest nah. We have heard. Don't you f**k? - Joy Isi Bewaji

I don't care about Nigerian Christians.

But I love God. I really do.

The Nigerian church is largely a sham. That has very little to do with God. And absolutely nothing to do with me.

I have atheist friends. I respect them, and I believe they respect my belief in a God.

I do not believe I have to fight for God. So I don't.

But what I will not accept on my newsfeed is a naked picture of a Jesus with a penis.

You will not try it with Mohammed. You will not try it with Buhari.

Why Jesus?

Let's forget that picture is a sham. I mean, that isn't even Jesus. That Catholic drawing of a white man is definitely not Christ. It's an idol of sort. I don't know. I don't care.

However, it is the motive behind that post that I am against.

Is having a good job inversely proportional to having a good boss, or a good boss directly proportional to a good job - Adesegun Damazio

I've come to realize something about professional practice, it's one thing to have a good job and it's a completely different thing to have a good boss.

Those who fall under the first category may not necessarily be less preoccupied at work, some may not even earn mouthwatering salaries and in a plot twist, some actually epitomize the less work and more pay structure - a prayer peculiar to Yórùbà mothers of today. But those who have good bosses always tend to be the happiest group of workers out there. Research has also corroborated this notion, so there'll be no need for emphasis.

ttributing every Lotto won or every accidental success to the God of Christianity is BAD theology - Olakunle Allison

Not The God of Christianity!

A god that gives favours to sinners in this life and then sends them to hell in death is NOT the God of Christianity.

The God of Christianity does not dish out favours to Con Artists, Schemers, Murderers, Prostitutes, Liars, Betters etc. He FIRST gives them MERCY for repentance and then takes them through Process!

Any 'gift' or 'act of favour' God gives to a sinner is usually slow judgment in action or a Greek gift in disguise.

Attributing every Lotto won or every accidental success to the God of Christianity is BAD theology. No matter how attractive it is, it's still irredeemably bad!

The God of Christianity is Consistent.

If He hates evil, He will never favour evildoers. If He seems to 'favour' them, look very carefully, He is gradually setting them up.

Sometimes God punishes the rich by giving him more riches until he becomes consumed by it. God is awesome like that.

Some people always have a mindset of 'someone is doing me', friends who mean well, are branded enemies, parents are considered evil - Emeka Ndukah

Yesterday as I watched the National Geographic Channel, I came to learn of the Fish called The Electric Eel for the first time, actual name is Electrophorus electricus. The fish is commonly found in the Amazon and generally in Fresh Waters.

In the narration of the documentary, Electric Eels are mostly blind although they are not born blind. To me they are such beautiful creatures and I was wondering how come they are blind? I then read about them and came to understand that these animals have three pairs of abdominal organs that produce electricity as a form of defensive mechanism against predators.

Whenever the animal is under attack, it activates an electric field of up to 860 Volts (that is nearly 4 times the 220V electricity supplied to our homes) to electrocute its attacker. The Eel also requires rising to the surface of the water every 10 minutes in order to take in Oxygen before going back under the water.

Emotional Abuse kills slowly, you have to let go - Toyin Kay

People often think men/women who are experiencing physical abuse from their partners are the ones suffering the most. I hereby put it to you that they are not.

The ones going through the real deal are the ones in relationships with manipulators, subtle controllers, mental distorters and mind tormenters. It is the most toxic of all relationships. The victims die a slow, painful, natural death.

One of the biggest mistake you can make is to be in love with a manipulator. They thrive on controlling other people's mind and without these, they cannot function. They will find your weakness, use them against you at the slightest opportunity, make you beg, beg and constantly apologize for your seemingly wrong doings, they convince you to give up something that matters greatly to you in order to serve their self-centred interests, they make you think you are the sole cause of whatever issues arise in the relationship, they pretend to accept your apologies on the pretext that they love you, they will continue this cycle over and over again until you decide to put an end to their manipulation.

Can CAN shut up?

Instead of fighting over curriculum and be passionate, can these CAN people fight corruption in their churches?
Can you stop offering front seats to dignitaries with money? Can you stop recognising looters and praise singing them because they will drop ordinary N500,000 as gift for head pastor after worship.
Can CAN make noise about productivity and stop shouting upandan about what more than 70 per cent of Nigerians care less about.
Can CAN talk about their members that live in penury and constantly be on government's neck as it is now, to make the lives of their church members better.

If not, Can CAN shut up?

The best sex I ever had - Joy Isi Bewaji

The best sex I had was with a man, of course. It was after work, we were dating, I was complaining about work stress, he booked a room in a hotel, bought massage oils, sent me a text. At the stroke of 5pm, I raced out of the office. Driving that car like James Bond all the way to the hotel.

That night, he massage my naked body. From top to bottom, I screamed, orgasmed... and asked for more. He obliged me.

You can't just cherry pick traditions and civilization to suit your selfish interest and expect people like me to clap for you - Nkechi Bianze

I know a Nigerian couple living in the UK. They had three children. The man worked as an IT consultant, and the woman was a nurse. They both earned well.

I met them in a church I attended temporarily. They are the typical born again family where they were both church workers. However, from the outside, I noticed some things about this couple that raised my curiosity.

For starters, the car the man drove was a mere "locomotive engine" compared to what his wife cruised. The wife clearly looked and lived richer than her husband.
As a "busy body" that I can be sometimes, I was curious to know more, but I wasn't close enough to them or anyone close to them to have the chance of feeding my curiosity.

Learn to live again - Seun Abimbola

Dear Asake,

You deserve another shot at life.

I got to know about my late sister only when I was thirteen. My parents had slipped the details into a marriage seminar they held, upon invitation, at a church which I followed them to. For that moment in the programme, there was an intense stillness in the church. I could see the soft stares of sympathy and feel the unspoken words of condolences reaching out to my parents. The silence in the room meant they understood their pain, that they recognised their ache. All I felt was shock. How were they able to keep this tragedy away from our everyday, existential narratives? Why no word about it? Apparently the older children knew, but they had simply moved on too, like nothing happened. Not until years later, after I saw my dad’s Masters project, read the dedication page and saw my late sister’s name, did I approach my mum. I wanted to know what really happened. With a wave of a deep sense of grief and loss, my mum narrated the story.

This was in the mid 80’s.

"Some Women need to be slapped not just by their husbands" says relationship coach Tusky

SOME LADIES DO NEED A SLAP, not just from their husbands.

This morning I'll like to address the issue of sharp mouthed wives and ladies, it's gonna be tough so bear with me.

There are many good husbands out there who daily face the temptation of landing a well aimed, well deserved and solid slap on their wives faces, thank God for those of them who are responsible and disciplined enough to restrain themselves and please, I encourage you to keep restraining yourselves. Now I'm in no way encouraging, endorsing or advocating for domestic violence but at the same time, many women and wives these days should just watch their mouths and shut up.

"The Yoruba people are not as educated as our people. They are illiterates and lazy. NBS and WAEC results prove that right."

Nigerian artistes are morally brain dead - Akeem Adetayo Oyalowo

So Falz complained, and then we have people taking sides.

That in our environment, of mostly morally-brain-dead people, we have a musician willing to speak publicly about negative ideas being propagated through music and we have people attacking him isn't in any way decent or brilliant.

No one here is trying to be a moral police. However despite recent advancements and global acclaim, Nigerian music mostly still has a lot of work to do when it concerns lyrical content.

It's only in Nollywood women wake up with made up faces, reality is less pleasant - Aluzu Ebikebuna Augustine

I think beauty is far too underrated, especially in Nigeria. I can still recall the very first day I went out on a date with my girl. She came out just too classy in her aquamarine palazzo pants, complemented with matching coloured filigree top, red floppy hat, a bag and black silhouette hill. I was immediately grasping for breath at the sight of her. You know those times girls leaves you gawking effortlessly? Yes, effortlessly. I was at the very befall of an enchantress, devoid of any cosmetic surplusage.

That day have since for many reasons been ensconced in my heart. Most was her ability to wow me without make-up. That left an indelible mark in me. You see, men like it when their girlfriend look beautiful. Irrespective of the cosmetic surplus. However, they have to get used to the idea of seeing their girlfriend without make up before marriage.

Every night she’ll wash the make-up off her face, won’t she? So how are you going to cope? It’s only in Nollywood that women wake up perfectly made-up. Reality is less pleasant. The point I’m trying to make is that we seem to be fixated on other consummations of women and relegate this very important aspect of them to the background. As if it doesn't matter at all. Looks does, and so does beauty.

MTN's current commercial is devoid of any creativity, you can still save your budget for the stereotypical family setting, but remember that there are single parents like me out there, tell our stories too - Joy Isi Bewaji

MTN has a radio commercial running full speed on zero creativity.

Joy (yes, that's her name. What coincidence) is informed by her husband that mother-in-law is visiting and wants banga soup, I think.

Joy needs help. She is reminded by the voices in her head that she has a large following on social media and can find someone to assist her with this banga.

But then the voices also remind her of her own mother, an excellent cook, who is way more reliable in these matters than any friend.

Why are Nigerian married women reffered to as Engr. Mrs or Dr. Mrs, This is another silly way a society tries to give women the impression that marriage supercedes all other achievements. I wouldn't be so angry if they gave men same impression - Nkechi Bianze

As long as there are no such titles like Dr. Mr., Engr. Mr., Barr. Mr....etc; titles like Dr. Mrs., Engr. Mrs., Barr. Mrs....etc will never make sense to me.

If there's no need to indicate that the man who has a professional (or any other) title is married, there should be no need to indicate that the woman who has a professional title is married.

This is another silly way a society tries to give women the impression that marriage supercedes all other achievements. I wouldn't be so angry if they gave men same impression.

By the virtue of the fact that I have an Engineering degree and licensed to practice Engineering in at least one country, I can legally go by the title "Engr.". Let me get married and see that person that will refer to me as Engr. Mrs. Or let me have my PhD and see that yeye human being that will refer to me as Engr. Dr. Mrs.

Heaven knows I will sue you for everything you are worth. You must be rich before you think of committing such fuckery, so that suing you will be worth it.

Nonsense, titles and fuckeries!

I fear obedience and compliance - Teniola Esan

There was a movie that I watched a long time ago. I cant even remember the name of the movie, and it wasn't a popular cast. But there was a line in one scene that resonated so strongly with me that I doubt I will ever forget it in my life. It was a conversation between a french woman and her lover, a writer.

They were both young and in love. And one night, while in each others arms, she told him that she dreamed of settling down in a little cottage in Paris or Notredame and growing old together. But he was distant. His mind was far away. Till she asked what was on his mind and he turned and said to her, "I am a writer, but the world doesn't know who I am yet."

I can never forget those words. "The world doesnt know who I am yet."

The collapse of the Old Oyo Empire, the role of Ibadan in a 16 year long war

Shortly after Oyo Empire expanded her influence westwards, capturing Port Novo and making Dahomey (present-day Benin Republic) a vassal state pay tributes of 40 guns and 400 loads of cowries and corals regularly to Oyo, of course after phases of wars that made Oyo army a dread to the Dahomeyans, Alaafin(Emperor) Labisi appointed a new Bashorun (Prime Minister).

To check the Alaafin from becoming too dictatorial, the Prime Minister according to the constitution could pass a vote of no confidence that would turn the Oyo Mesi
(Legislators) against the Alaafin and an empty calabash would be handed to the emperor signaling that he was required commit suicide and pave way for a new Alaafin since the Oyo Mesi had lost confidence in his rule.

The Basorun was a high priest controlling all the cults except Sango and Ifa, so this could make him declare that the ancestors and Heavens had lost confidence in an
Alaafin. Prior to the appointment of Ga, the unwritten constitution of the empire had been amended from the
more ancient style that the Aremo (heir apparent) ruled after an Alaafin passed on.

The new constitution demanded that the heir apparent died with the Alaafin so as to pass on succession without disputes and in a way make the monarchical system a sort of republic. This made Bashorun Ga more powerful. Ga became despotic and power drunk and from the slightest accusation that an Alaafin or his Prince disrespected the Oyo Mesi to the accusation that an Alaafin was assuming airs of superiority, Bashorun Ga raised five Alaafins to the throne and successively destroyed four of them.

"You see ehn.. Never listen to anybody and end up settling for less.. The people telling you to bring down your standards just so you can "see husband" don't mean well.. When the light goes off still, be encouraged still - Seun Abimbola

The journey of life is such that dangerous, curvy bends are part of the road to fulfilment. It can be rough and really tough atimes. There are moments everywhere seems bleak. It's like the night season. No light. No seen face. You feel alone. Friends might be there but their interventions might just be too little or non-existent, and at some other points, too late. Now, I need you to know that everyone who has a defined sense of purpose is already a leader. You'd stand for something and people will come to love, respect and walk with you because of it. What leadership does many times, even when you are open and honest about your vulnerability, is to give people the impression that you can handle it all alone. They can ask others how they are doing, feeling or coping, but for you, they just think you have it all figured out and settled.

I blame FG for turning Kanu from a midget to a movement, now he has a Messiah complex - Olakunle Allison

(Please, give them Biafra. I MEAN IT!)

Psychologists call it a Messiah Complex or Christ Complex or Saviour Complex. Hitler was said to have it. He too thought he was on God's side. Most leaders of thought and revolutionists have this complex.

I just saw a recent video of a very recent event that happened few days/hours ago somewhere in the East. Nnamdi Kanu was the cynosure of all eyes and the crowd was a mammoth. Hate him or like him, Kanu has metamorphosed from a mere man to a demiurge; from a rabble rouser to a rallying point; from a noisemaker to a sweet nonsense. And for all these I blame the Federal Government of Nigeria (FG). They helped turn Kanu from a Midget to a Movement. How so? Because people love the persecuted!

I had a chat with a drunk last night. It was so funny. This drunk was angry with me - because according to this drunk, I should be supporting his career fully.

Then, this morning, I had a chat with another person I suspect was drunk. It goes like this:

Suspected Drunk: Morning, boss. Show me love na. Anything at all. Nothing is too small.

Me: WTF? Tell them you didn't see me in your dream.

Suspected Drunk: Lemme use and see front, biko. I'm so low on funds.

Me: Get a job then!

Suspected Drunk: I'm your boy o. A little assistance is all I ask of. I'm a graduate o.

Me: Oh wow! Clap for yourself, Graduate!

Suspected Drunk: I'm searching for a job. I can act. I'm multi-talented. Lemme work with u.

Me: Have a great day!

Suspected Drunk: I can play d keyboard. I dance also

Me: Okay. Bye, Graduate!

Why men have 'Sister Mary Amaka' as wives at home, only to keep disturbing Caro in town and keeping Suzzie as side chic on the tarmac - Tosin Ayo

Dear woman,

Be sure you ask questions from your man before saying 'I do'. Be sure you are the kind of woman of your man's dreams and sexual fantasy.

Enquire about his sexual preferences, fatalistic desires and extreme amorous orientation. Know his 'spec' and sexual attraction.

Be sure he isn't just getting married to you, so he could have a wife material at home in a bid to satisfy the societal expectation of an ideal wife and nothing else.

Be sure you are who he wants and not just what he got. Be sure he truly wants you and would want you for a long time.

The truth is that many men are attracted to the weird, ratchet, sexy, bitchy, dirty, crazy, indecent hoes, but since the family and the society stipulate that a wife material must be responsible or appear so, quiet, serene, decent, Godly, churchy, and homely, they therefore elect to marry the latter, in order to fulfill societal and family criteria.

This is exactly why men have 'Sister Mary Amaka' as wives at home, only to keep disturbing Caro in town and keeping Suzzie as side chic on the tarmac.

For those genuinely committed to living a life of perverted sexuality and pornographic posturing, their ideal sex partner is the unconventional woman capable of the very bizarre which the wife would neither allow nor explore. The other woman naturally fills this vacuum.

This is why many men keep their wives at home as pieces of archaic furniture undeserving of appreciation and constant communication. They simply don't love the type of woman they married. They didn't marry their kind of women, so everybody else can admire them, especially because they are not their type.

They simply marry a wife material at home, in order to moonlight with bed materials on the street.

If only men will be true to themselves to reveal the exact type of bitches they truly like and desperately desire, but are incapable of marrying owing entirely to societal stereotypes and family prescription.

Sadly, there are many men who marry those they do not truly love, but those they can keep.

The truth is no matter how much you shy away from the truth, it is what it is. Men will continually cheat on the good woman with the bad woman. They will never explore their freaky sides with their wives, but with their Bush meat. This is especially because they either married their wives for the wrong reasons or married their untrue choices.

Be sure your man is not just marrying you in order to fulfil a certain societal criterion, have good quality kids, have great maternal example and because he needs a good mother for his children.

For many are married, few are very sexually excited about their spouses on the long run. Life is too short to be used to fulfill another person's selfish purpose. Half a word...

I miss the shows at Amphitheatre where tickets can't be sold for more than N300 else no student will show up... I mean all students will show up, and after 2 hours the organisers will have to let em in for FREE!
I miss the Project Plays at Pit Theatre, that start at exactly 7:00:00 pm.
I miss the 2 hour prayer walks at 4 am along Road 1.
I miss the bats that litter the sky like errant warplanes.
I miss the nights cos OAU doesn't sleep.
I miss the brother and sister kneeling and holding hands at Football training pitch, perhaps asking God if 'IT' is His will.

Breaking news : Alaafin schools Ooni, told his drummers off and says "No Oba is superior to the Alaafin in Yorubaland" at OAU, Ife

At OAU, Ile-Ife, Alaafin blows hot, as Ooni’s drummers, gong beaters stir hornest's nest.'’No Oba in Yoruba land is superior to me’’ ……. Alaafin
From Bode Durojaiye

Africans in general, and especially the traditional people of Yoruba land, propitiate and worship the talking drum, through the mysterious divinity they thought, has brought the art of beating the drum to the world.

Across the span of Nigeria’s South-West, where the Yoruba people are largely found, and in distant places where they hold sway, one of the most privileged aspects of the varied layers of their tradition is the unique platform upon which the talking drum sits.

While drums in other human settlements are employed for their rhythmic pleasures, the drum music of the Yoruba people is both tone-based and extends its functionalities to accommodate other uses.

I don't do welcome ceremony on my wall, so you don't have to inform me that this is your first time of commenting on my posts - Nkechi Bianze

Nkechi is trending again. So, let's clear the air.

1. I'm proud, and I will remain proud for as long as I live. Don't worry about me falling, I'm sure you have your own problems to worry about.

2. Often times, I could be a bit forceful and somewhat aggressive with driving my points. It's my DEFAULT Facebook writing style. I can actually change it, but I won't because I like me like that.

3. I don't do welcome ceremony on my wall, so you don't have to inform me that this is your first time of commenting on my posts.

4. I'm on Facebook to speak my mind. The ONLY way you can bring me to my kneels is if you come with superior arguments. Subs won't cut it, cyber attacks won't cut it, insults won't cut it, superior argument is the only way you can get me to bow.
Quite frankly, from my observations, only a handful of Nigerians are capable of that.

We confront each other on social media, raining curses, abuses, insults and instilling trepidation in the minds of readers. Who made us this way? - Aisha Ajekigbe

On Religious Tolerance, how tolerant are we?

Religious toleration is people allowing other people to think or practice other religions and beliefs. In a country with a state religion, toleration means that the government allows other religions to be there. Many countries in past centuries allowed other religions but only in privacy. This has become rare. Others allow public religion but practice religious discrimination in other ways.

Traditional Tolerance values respects and accepts the individual without necessarily approving of or participating in his or her beliefs or behaviour.

Let the churches and mosques continue their dumbing down but the school system should be a safe space for producing liberal minds - Olu Adegoke

Replace Religious and National Values with Philosophy.

Philosophy will teach you how to appreciate different belief systems without being enslaved to any ideology.

If you teach rudimentary logic, propositional reasoning, critical thinking and ethics to young minds, they won't grow up to be fanatics and definitely will not grow up to be Shekau. Quranic teachings produced Shekau and his likes.

CRK or Bible teachings influenced Rev. King. We don't need anyone to teach us that Muhammed literally spoke to an angel inside a cave or that a snake talked to Eve. We need people who will be open to several ideologies including religion but from a different angle.

Let the churches and mosques continue their dumbing down but the school system should be a safe space for producing liberal minds.

If you see me in public and you act like you don't know me, I will embarrass you

So please come correct when I smile at you....

Family is important, work is important. Family is a group of people who (should) work! - Joy Isi Bewaji

I don't understand movies or articles or whatever that tell us to choose between Family and Work.

Why do we have to choose?

Family is important. Work is important.

There's a thin line between the Work you do and the love you receive from Family.

Have you ever been the broke one in a family? The one always seeking help and favours? You'd realise the importance of Work.

Good. Here's what I'm going to do, I'll go through your TL and see if I can find that tweet where you mentioned your workplace. Then, I'll pay you a visit and have you repeat your words line by line. Woe betide you if I find you, bro - Adesegun Damazio

I disagreed with a Twitter celeb's views on patriarchy and earned consecutive rounds of derogatory remarks in return. His insolence piqued my curiosity, so I decided to pay a visit to his inbox and this ensued between us:

ME: All I did was disagree with your views on patriarchy and you did nothing but insult me for no reason. Is that how you argue with people in reality?

USER: Sometimes, you need to put fools in their place

ME: Oh, so I'm a fool now?

USER: Your words, not mine

ME: Hold on a sec, so you really believe women oughtn't be allowed to make crucial decisions simply because it's not in consonance with your "religious beliefs"?

USER: I don't care how you try to twist this but as far as I'm concerned, the husband is the head of the family and the onus lies on him to decide what's best for his family

ME: Wow! Is this a joke on something?

USER: You're exhibiting your idiocy again

ME: *sigh* can you say this to my face?

USER: You must be foolish to think you can threaten me so cheaply. I know your type.

ME: Good. Here's what I'm going to do, I'll go through your TL and see if I can find that tweet where you mentioned your workplace. Then, I'll pay you a visit and have you repeat your words line by line. Woe betide you if I find you, bro.

USER: *reads the message but doesn't reply*

ME: oh! You can't talk now?

USER: *reads and still no reply*

I've found his profile on LinkedIn and have been viewing it intermittently ever since. It's a good thing LinkedIn notifies you each time someone checks your profile and in this guy's case, I've deliberately viewed his profile more than ten times in the last two days alone. Not that I truly intend to visit him but it brings joy to my soul knowing I can tension him that way.

I wonder what goes on in his mind each time he gets the LinkedIn notification that I've viewed his profile. Now I think I know why they say the wicked will never know peace.

Not yet Uhuru....tarry! because six steps have to be fulfilled before Senator Melaye can be recalled and they aren't on number one yet - Enyioma Madubuike

The senator representing Kogi West at the Nigerian senate, is currently battling to save his seat in the green chamber, as “more than half” of the constituent of his senatorial zone have supported a petition for his recall.

However, this is just the first of a series of constitutional steps required to effect the recall.

But first, what exactly is a recall?

A recall is the process through which an elected senator may be removed from his/her seat in the Senate. It is a voting process where the electorate decide via a referendum (a yes or no vote) whether they want the Senator to remain for the rest of his term or whether he should be lose his place as a senator in the green chamber.

No wonder you are Zealots and dance to every drum in the marketplace of religion - Olakunle Allison

This is the bane of Nigeria. Religious zeal absent knowledge, not really religion. I won't hold brief for other nations. My searchlight is on Nigeria.

Nigerians are not really religious. They are zealots- someone who believes fervently and militantly in something. To be a zealot you only need unbreakable and unshakable conviction. Knowledge is not a requirement. But true and real religion must be premised on sound thinking and robust knowledge. History demonstrates this much.

This in essence is what the Bible promotes. Throughout Scripture we see Knowledge extolled and exalted ('receive my instruction, and not silver; and knowledge rather than choice gold'- Proverbs). We see investigation and inquiry lauded ('it is the glory of kings to search out a matter'- Proverbs). We see diligent search praised ('seek and ye shall find'- Jesus). Scripture when studied with an open mind promotes knowledge, investigation and research.

Dear Hush Puppi, Your champagne friends, I must say, are terrible people, they never show that they are proud of you because the day you are going down, they are not going down with you Onyeka Nwelue

Dear Hushpuppi,

I’m an admirer. Of your pictures. I don’t envy you. I think I would love to meet you in person – and disappear. Maybe, that’s why I admire your tenacity to ‘pepper’ the haters and ‘humble’ them, but since they ‘humbled’ the kidnapper Evans, I have been thinking about you. I didn’t say you are a kidnapper. Far from that. I am just worried about you.

Let’s take a spirituality class.

There is something called Wheel of Samsara in Hinduism. It rotates. It moves. It never stays in one place. It is like a table, which always turns. And within all of us, there is what we call willpower and the Cruel Mind. It’s okay if you say I am saying rubbish, but let us watch between now and August and see what happens. What we want will always come to us, if we focus on them.

Thank you guys for the views
